This is regarding this TV series:

As the summary on the page says it started in 1999, it had however no episodes added.
I added some episodes with data saying it is the 20th season, but still the release year have now changed to 2018.
This must be a fault in the programming? Because if not you have to either ad no episodes or absolutely everyone.

Whoever wrote that knows as do you that the show originated in 1999. However unless you can show a title number or URL to the 1999 TV Program, it does not exist in the database according to the search that I just did. See Below
The year was 1999 untill I added one episode when it automatically canged :( This is from my confirmation email, and there you can se the year was 1999. So some unlogical programming here.

It also has the wrong year (2001) But it does show it as a continuation. Someone who is very familiar needs to create a name page that is accurate and start the daunting task of submitting data for each season by way of a data contribution. All those titles will all have to be merged also. Contributors like me and you do this all the time.

Thanks, theese pages should not be merged. There are several TV series with the same name. The original one was from 1999 in Norway. The reality show have since been sold to several other countries and they have kept the same name, but are produced in diferent countries. Thank you for reporting, I've now changed the series page back to 1999. GMJ is correct, as there are no episodes preceding the 20th season this has submitted a change to the title year. If you submit an episode with the earliest release date this will help to prevent this from happening again.

noticed this by chance that the year had changed. I did not create the original
page for the series, just adding one episode. I did not get any warning that
what I did would mean the "start" year would change. So it was
not logical to me that that would happen.
And probably not logical to others either (unless very experienced.)
Would it not be a god idea to either:
1. Give a warning when submitting an episode that it will change the release
year?
2. Or better yet not change a release year forward in time unless you add an
episode which is number 1.1.? Change the year backwards in time if an
earlier episode is added makes sense but not forward in time.

We do have similar checks like this already in place internally to prevent the year change but this one was missed, apologies.
