It's also debatable how important the old threads actually are. I mean ”bumping” the old thread rarely gives any results (new posts), since official IMDb staff only reply 90% to the ”new threads”. There are hundreds of old threads, but basically we need to create a new one every time if we want some ”official” answers (which is what people often are after).
Also, the rules and guidelines change, so how important and up-to-date is a thread from 2013?

Thank you for this in depth explanation. I do believe that these threads should indeed be removed. They do reveal the identity of the user, and I believe that is their concern. Additionally, it does not seem as though those particular threads have gained an immense amount of traffic, and there are several threads available on those issues. I hope you would consider the removal Joel:

Thank you for your response, however, when this information is not exactly highlighted at the forefront of the website, I don't expect many of its users to be aware of this. I think this site will survive perfectly fine without these three threads. Just simply remove as requested, especially since it is the original content creator that has requested the action.

These documents are not something that could help ”other people” later on, so they should be removed when the case is handled. Or better yet, people should not to post them in the first place.
Sure, people should use the IMDb help desk when sending ”personal” (this also means ”personal” to some other people, since these documents can also include info of other people and companies) info. But we all know that many people won’t use that option - or are even aware of that option.

People posting email addresses, phone numbers and other personal information is problematic and happens way to often. When I notice such email addresses and phone numbers I try to redact that information and post a note that Get Satisfaction is a public forum.
This removes this private information from future search engine searches, but it does not remove this information from email notifications.
