I suggest that we remove the "Unable to Verify", and that we actually get a better service for contribution. I understand that it is hard to verify every contribution and that the "Unable to Verify" was created to avoid false information to be put on the site. But, I feel that the system is simply not great enough.
For example, It happens that sometimes you have all the evidence in the world for your contribution, but you still get this mythic reason.
You can also see that this reason "Unable to Verify" is the cause of many problem reports on getsatisfaction.
When I research "Unable to Verify" on the search bar, I get 33297 results so 2220 pages of results.
I f you can't completely remove it, at least improve it.

I agree with your idea. I have tried to put about 10 to 15 URLs with date of births of birth names from Facebook and Twitter, with lots of strong reputable sources and any celebrity interview talk about it's birthplace. Because there is a lot of editors press the "declined" button and said "unable to verify". The majority of editors having trouble to read date of births lead to "declining" because IMDb lied about "declined" and "unable to verify" with strong correct information and should have been "approved". I will "support" your idea to get rid of the phrase "unable to verify" as it's proposal and maybe new editors will be hired by IMDb to read factual information very slowly after I submit. So once again, I will "support" your proposal to get rid of the phrase "unable to verify".

Cinephile: I'm voting in favor of this idea, because it seems that, all too often, "unable to verify" is used as a reason for rejection even when "verification" was not the problem. See the links in my prior thread at https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/is-unable-to-verify-the-right-term-to-use.

Yes indeed.
Not one size sock fits all size feet!
IMDb needs more specific and not a generic catchphrase.
The worst possibly is that "they cannot catch a specific reason during processing" or whatever the exact wording is on that one!

I do not Me too unless I'm comfortable with the topic being completely well thought out and proposed constructive changes are presented.
His last line is more complaint then a solution.
I f you can't completely remove it, at least improve it.
If solutions were presented I would.
And my comment was not directed at the OP
It was a reply to gromit82.

I told other contributors to give some friendly advice to wait patiently a little longer because of very long delays. I know a lot of editors have trouble reading that lead to the "unable to verify" result by one of its editors and very long delays affecting a lot of other contributors with the bad result.

In addition to remove the "unable to verify" result. In regarding birth date guidelines. An newcomer has told me about public records and official documents are extremely difficult to search all over the internet. So alongside the removal of the "unable to verify" result. We want to see public records and official documents to be permanently gone to change IMDb birth date guidelines. If IMDb will accept changing guidelines with removal of the "unable to verify" result with the bundled public records and official documents to be completely gone for good, just in case. Good luck to all champion contributors.

I thought of 2 theories about the causes of the "Unable To Verify".
1) There is a minimum of contributions an IMDb Editor has to review by day.
2) They are paid for the number of contributions that they review.
Both options can explain why there is an inexplicable number of "Unable to verify".

I sincerely, can't stand the "UNABLE TO VERIFY"
My submission to delete on my review got declined, I can't believe that I have to go to this help center to get on of my OWN review deleted.

Yes. It should be a matter of common courtesy on IMDb's part: if a machine detects a reason to decline, the reason should be stated. And if a human decides to decline, again, the reason should be stated. This should apply to any declined submission, including but not only those that are "unable to verify." And especially, it should apply to the most obnoxious action IMDb apparently takes, removing previously approved content (hasn't happened to me, but ya never know.)

A belated Thank You for your assistance. I had to forget about it for a few days. You give me hope that I might actually resolve this. I found my contribution number, thanks to the link you provided. I cannot, however, locate the "New Post" button you mention near the top of the IMDb homepage. Can you tell me exactly where it is? Thanks again, Harry
