If I rate a movie, is not it supposed to be removed from my wishlist automatically?
I recently saw some movies and rated as well that were in my wishlist, but I had to manually remove them from the wishlist.

Are you by chance referring to your watch list? If so, IMDb does not automatically remove films that you rated from that list.
However, you can easily determine which films on your watch list that you have and have not rated. You can determine this via an Advanced Title Search [http://www.imdb.com/search/title ].

This has come up before and I believe staff don't want to set up a system where doing something on one list removes something else from another one, as this is pretty much guaranteed to cause confusion and complaints.
Also you may want to remove a film from your Watchlist once you've rated it, but other people might not - they might be using the Watchlist differently (there have been plenty of people posting on here who make... shall we say non-standard use of their Watchlist) or they may want to rewatch a film (one of the advantages is that you can check your Watchlist for streaming viewing options, which makes it a useful playlist).
Personally, when I watch a film I hit the Checkin button, click the Watchlist to remove it from there and add it to a Watched list I made. It is the work of moments to do this each time and Dan has given you a useful way for checking the films you've rated that are in your Watchlist so you can remove them (I had nearly two dozen, which is weird, however, there are a coupe I've left on there as I want to rewatch them)..
