I found a listing for an actor named "The Trailer Park Boys" which is clearly not an actual person.

Group credits are accepted to IMDb with certain limitations:

"Group names=

When a group with identifiable members appears on screen, we credit according to the way they are credited in the production. Thus, if The Beatles are credited that way, we would not enter "Lennon, John (as The Beatles); McCartney, Paul (as The Beatles); Harrison, George (as The Beatles); Starr, Ringo (as The Beatles)" Instead, they would simply be credited as "Beatles, The". If they are credited both as a group and individually (e.g.: "The Beatles: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr"), then both the group name and individual names would be listed as they are in the credits. At some point in the future, we will have more complete support for linking groups to their members, and handling changes in personnel over the years.

If "The" is part of a group name, it should come at the end of the name, after a comma.

Example: Rolling Stones, The not Stones, The Rolling."

( )

So are "The Trailer Park Boys" only credited as "themselves" and not with their real, actor names? I know nothing about this series.

Understood, however that doesn't appear to be the case here. For example, that "actor" is credited for all 96 episodes of the show, but I checked a few episodes (they're all available on Netflix in the US) and the actors are credited individually with no "The Trailer Park Boys". Similarly, it's listed on IMDB for an episode of Archer in which the three actors have a cameo together as the voices of Mounties, but again they're listed individually by name in the credits.

I suspect the only time those three actors have been referred to by that label is when appearing on various shows (such as Jimmy Kimmel Live!) in character.

Yes, good questions. I would assume that the only way to get "The Trailer Park Boys" listed in the cast-section would be that this is how the actors are actually credited (no "real" names).

I guess IMDb needs to investigate.

There is a listing on ImDb for a fake actor by the name of 'Rae Sunshine Lee' who lists having been in over 100 films as an actor and at least 25 films as 'producer, director, writer, researcher, etc...', when, in fact, she has done none of these and there is no source online that I can find that lists this actor in any film she lists.  Allowing these fake listings to exist ruins the reliability of ImDb as a research tool.  How does one get these fakes deleted and banned?
