Review Declined?

I have no idea if this could be the reason, but I noticed a number of spelling/grammar errors. You're not using proper punctuation, for example, omitting commas where they should be.

Also, did you submit it as shown here, i.e., one giant paragraph? That may be an issue.

Its content is not in any way offensive--at least not to me!

I noticed exactly the same thing along with poor formatting. IE: Your one giant paragraph reference GFSCal.

Poor grammar notwithstanding, that review doesn't seem any worse than the vast majority of "reviews" posted recently that I've read on IMDb.  At least, it makes an argument about the movie and offers some supporting evidence.  It's bewildering how this is rejected while all the trash posts that aren't even reviews at all are accepted.

Am probably late to the party and have not an awful lot to add, but if not done already resubmit the review taking on board what everyone else has said. I also think that formatting may be the problem and that the processing team may have found it very difficult to read and a bit rambling. Having said that, you see walls of text reviews and grammatical errors every day in reviews today and a lot of them far worse than this too. This can easily be resolved with punctuation to break up the sentencing (so the big paragraph does not instead read like one big sentence instead), check the grammar and breaking up the big paragraph into two shorter ones.

Speaking as a prolific reviewer who has become increasingly despairing of IMDb review quality lately, in terms of content there is nothing wrong with the review at all. You give well argued reasons, good and bad, it actually looks and feels like a review and it is always great when you see somebody being civil in how they put their opinion across. You didn't bash anybody at all, which in an era of where critic and general consensus bashing has increased irritatingly was really refreshing. If you have already submitted the review in question, when and if you next write a review take the replies to your post on board.

Just to say, I know what it is like to have a review declined and remember how frustrating it is. It has only happened for one review, but it happened because I apparently put in a word deemed by some offensive (on post-review research I did find that it was debatable) without realising that it was. I did feel bad because I would never say anything offensive intentionally. I took the word out, re-submitted the review and it approved straight away. Sorry for the long post.
