Rigual - nm0726829

This entry is for the ‘Los Hermanos Rigual’ (Rigual Brothers), a Cuban band.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Los_Hermanos_Rigual

There are seven credits for the band. All of them have an attribute.

Four have the attribute

as Hermanos Rigual

One has

Trio Hnos. Rigual

One has

Trio Hermanos Rigual

The last has

Trio de los Hnos. Rigual

‘Hnos’ being an abbreviation for ‘Hermanos’.

I understand the need for attributes when an individual / group may be known or credited under another name e.g Alecia Moore/ Pink, McKinley Morganfield/ Muddy Waters.

I do not understand why a name that is not used in any IMDB credit becomes the actual name used for the entry, meaning that every credit has an attribute.

I propose changing the name of this entry to ‘Hermanos Rigual’ and removing the text of the four attributes with this name. If it was changed to 'Los Hermanos Rigual' there would still be a need for seven attributes.

Is this acceptable?

Hi Graham,

Thank you for contacting us regarding a name change. Our general rule is to list people in the database under their most recently and/or frequently credited stage or professional name. If you've found a person listed under a name that does not correspond to the above definition, you can submit a correction by clicking on the "Edit Page" button and then selecting the "name correction" option on the next page.

For more information about submitting a name change and how to submit these, please refer to the guide below:

Thanks

Thanks, Meredith.

I will submit a correction to change the name to 'Hermanos Rigual'.

A question though ....

In the past, when I have done similar updates, the process treats the new title as though it is a two part name i.e. it will convert 'Hermanos Rigual' to 'Rigual, Hermanos' as though 'Hermanos' is a first name and 'Rigual' a second name.

How can I avoid this? Or do I let it happen and ask an MDB person to correct it?
