Currently in the attribute section of cast, there are 3,435 listings for
the attribute (rumored), 3 for (rumour) and 4 for
(rumoured). Can a staffer please merge these attributes and block (rumour) and (rumoured)?

They should be merged, because they are the same word with different spellings according to American or British practice (or practise!). Both versions should be respected in the form in which they were originally used or submitted.

Hi Marco -
The attributes you reported have now been corrected to "rumored", the changes should be live on the site shortly. Cheers!

Unfortunately, two instances of "rumoured" have found their way into the database again. Anything you can do to merge these two instances into 'rumored' and to make sure this can't happen again in the future?

(if in a week or so a staffer won't respond to this because it has been marked as Solved, I'll post it again all fresh, but I do think it's much neater and better if no new threads are made for a topic that already has a thread. It's a pity IMDb doesn't seem to agree with this logic and doesn't want to read all the messages their contributors write to better their database.)

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Rumored/rumour/rumoured - Thread two.
Because staff chooses not to read all posts made by the people who help
create and update the database, I feel the need to create this new
thread. Here's the issue that requires a response: https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/rumored-rumour-rumoured?topic-reply-list[settings][filter_by...
