I do not know if IMDb managers ever considered that this site is continuously used by scholars from all over the world. Every time I am doing a research and need to confirm data, here in my country of origin, Panamá, IMDb is the first site I think of. And I add reviews to contribute to the appreciation of some directors (Mexican Roberto Gavaldón, for example) or films, for the benefit of all interested users. Now instead of useful tools I have to watch the East Dane adds everytime I open a site that once was related to Cardiff University... It has lost much of that serious, scholar, attractive (at least, for me) side. For example, I cannot check how many films cult character actress Lupe Carriles made with Luis Buñuel; the "design" is more important than content, and I cannot help thinking that lost features respond to many users' deplorable spurn of the written word. I cannot even see my reviews in alphabetical order, or in any other alternative I could use in the past. I am an Aquarian, and as such I am strongly attracted to astrology, but is an actor's zodiacal sign more important than being able to find out how many films he/she made with a colleague? Although I always support renovations, improvements, or new designs that make anything attractive but not fashionable, I am very sad for the loss of a few very good things IMDb had for the benefit of those who used it and enhanced it for research and the "getting of wisdom", as H.H. Richardson would say. Edgar.
