*Another* "Top 1000 voters" & "Non-US users" had appeared today on The Carrington Event. I am in US and this film is not available to public. This dropped the 3.0 score to 2.1. This film is *not released* and not available. How did they see it? They didn't. They are score bombing. I'd like both scores removed and it looked into. And who gives a film with 30 votes a 1 anyway? Only someone that bombs it. The absolute toughest critic might score it a 6. it's a good flick. Anyway I've put in request to have it listed as in "post-production" i hope this resolves it for now. But I'm sure I'll have to complain in the future when they return to bomb the title for whatever reason.

IMDB clearly turns a blind eye to vote bombing and this is another example of it. What a failure of a system.

Hi IMDB,
I truly do believe that my film 'No Joke' has (unfortunately) been targeted by a vote bombing campaign. There has been quite a lot of debate regarding this occurrence, some constructive and some not (of which I am admittedly guilty), but ultimately (I believe) my film has been unfairly targeted for vote bombing. Is the film deserving of the several votes of 10/10? Probably not. Still, each and every review is organic and free of influence on the part of myself and anyone else associated with the film. Yes, we have pushed the promotion of getting folks to review but NEVER have we influenced their reviews and these reviewers will be the first to agree that their opinions were free of influence on our part. I do understand that a fix to the current system is in the works and may make a huge difference in a matter of days but, again, I do feel that my film has been unfairly targeted by vote bombers who almost certainly have not seen the film. Given that we only had our festival debut last weekend in conjunction with an online screening, the availability of the film has been extremely limited. I do thank Dan Dassow, Emperor, and Bluesman for helping to resolve this issue and have made available my film to Dan for viewing to determine if there is merit to my vote bombing claims. I respectfully request that IMDB staff look into the several lowball votes that have rendered all the others moot to determine if they were intentionally given to sink our score. We are able to provide IMDB staff with the names of all viewers of our online screening last weekend. As for the festival screening last week, I would suggest that IMDB staff make the determination if low-ball voters could possible have attended given their geographical location. If it can be determined that these vote bombers have intentionally targeted my film 'No Joke' without having seen it, I respectfully request that IMDB have these individuals immediately stripped of their account status. Many thanks IMDB, and again, these requests are made respectfully. -Matt.

This is getting ridiculous.

Flooding boards with the same message is a violation of the Terms and Conditions of the site. Let's curtail this as it's increasingly inappropriate and is becoming quite an annoyance, while probably not helping anyone, especially yourself. If having poor reviews or ratings is such a problem for you, you're probably in the wrong business.

As to extra weight, again, it's been addressed and we won't know how it will affect you until next week, it's ludicrous to keep posting about it at this point.

I have to say, at this point, you're abusing your posting privileges to have posted the same comments many dozens of times now. That should first be addressed before looking into who should be allowed to vote and who should be blocked. I would guess you're not, at this point, doing yourself any good.

Emperor suggested that I do this, bluesman. I would really appreciate it if you would stop attacking me and anyone else who is upset with the vote bombing of my film. It's unnecessary and unhelpful and frankly, it makes you look like somebody who cannot drop a grudge even though the issue has been resolved and did not involve you to begin with. I would suggest that it is YOU who is being abusive.

If you are needing confirmation that Emperor SUGGESTED I that I write this post, then here is the link:

Honestly, can you now just please stop making threats, please?

Dude...there is seriously something wrong with you

Staff, don't block my votes of anything. Or I'll stop voting. Dont' let film makers dictate which votes count and which don't.

The issue involves all users, not just this nut job. Or his made up voters of 10. Really? 10 of 10 out the shoot? yeah right.

Why does everybody feel a need to throw insults just because the filmmakers are asking for a fair system? I think it's absurd that asking that reviewers actually VIEW a film before they trash it (and veto the majority making the overall score to tank) is such a controversial idea. As for my 'made up' voters? Maybe do some research before you make such a statement as it does make you look pretty foolish.

Staff, don't block my vote. Or, I'll stop voting! I don't care what indie film producers say. If they don't like the votes, they can make better films, or give it up.

As long as you only vote on the films you saw I'm not complaining. Mostly we are discussing titles that haven't been released yet and only viewed by cast/crew and friends and maybe some festival officials.

I'd also like to add that in the 24 hours since I began to publicly call attention to the inital vote bomb of my film 'No Joke' (and the problematic IMDB voting system in general) we have had 2 more. I am publicly asking IMDB to determine if these 2 new voters (and the original) even were in the same city as our film festival premiere last week. If not, then I respectfully ask that these users immediately have their accounts suspended as they clearly have not seen the film and have done such out of spite. Please, can't we all agree that this abuse of the system must stop?

Happened to me as well. It's obvious that people read our complaints and drop another bomb. When Karma bites them in the ass I want them to remember their petty little bullying hidden behind a computer. I imagine some bitter, ugly creatures whose only satisfaction in life it is to make other people miserable, lol ;) You know that this comment will give me another bomb, but at this point it's so out of hand anyway, it just makes me laugh :D

It has happened to a lot of people who post on GS and the IMDB forum, I'm afraid that there are a handful of such people doing this - some people may actually believe they are helping IMDB (when they are actually doing the opposite) and some seem to be trolls (as they are looking for a reaction and find out people are watching their votes, then throwing a low vote on get them what they want).

Fingers crossed the changes go through soon and everyone can go back to doing what they really want to do.

The upside is, either one way or the other it looks like this should be fixed. Fingers crossed.

Films with low number of votes are now displaying the mean rather than weighted average. The changes due for early this week seem to have been implemented.
