Since the website has changed its advanced search options, I'm unable to search by year...does anyone know how to do that?

In the Advanced Title Search you can use the Release Date fields.

Thanks, but it doesn't work...if I enter only the dates it fails to provide any listings, if I enter other criteria it ignores the dates... :-(

It does work for me. For instance, I enter 2017 to 2017 and click Search at the bottom and I get a list of all titles from 2017.

Only if you make other selections...you can't get a full list of all movies released in that year, regardless of genre, language etc. (or at least, I have not been able to - if you know how to - I'll be very grateful for the advice).

Orly Rosenbaum,

Are you using an app or a browser to access the search? If an app, which one?
If a browser, please provide a sample url of a non-working search.

Here's one that works for me (I entered only 2012, it filled in the month and day):
https://www.imdb.com/search/title?title_type=feature&release_date=2012-01-01,2012-12-31&genr...

Thx, but your link demonstrates my exact problem - It's shows only musicals - I don't want any sorting by Genre. I want simply a full list of all the films released in a certain period. If you can advise how to do that (it used to be very simple before all the 'improvements' in IMDB) I would greatly appreciate it...thx :-)

Orly,

My example gives only musicals because that's what I asked for. If you eliminate that, then you get all the feature films. When I eliminate the genre specification, I get 8,400+ titles.

If I eliminate the feature film constraint, I get over 233k titles.

You did not answer my questions:

Advanced Title Search is one area that has changed the least in the last year. I don't understand what you used to do that doesn't work now.

Or maybe just tell us what you want to do, and we can direct you how to do it.
