Search engine credit is listing me as a writer but I am an actress primarily with many more credits under that category, how do I change it?

I would like to correct the credit that is coming up associated with my name in the search engine / known for. It comes up with my name and then 'writer' next to it as I have 1 writing credit, but primarily I'm an actress with 19 acting credits on IMDB and in the search engine would like my credit to reflect me accurately. Please can you advise how to change my name coming up in the search from 'writer' to 'actress'?

Katie: I can't guarantee that something can be done about this, but first, please tell us who you are and post a link to your IMDb page.

Katie: I have given you a "me too" on this question in hopes of getting a staff response to this question. The title and job that a person is known for is determined by an algorithm for which IMDb does not reveal the details, but usually it's easier to understand why the title and job were selected. I can understand why they might associate you with "Match Not Found" since you play the lead role and are a writer and producer for all of the episodes, but that doesn't explain why they would choose to designate you as Writer instead of Actress or even Producer for that series.

We have opened a ticket for this, thanks.  There is an explanation for it but it does quite do the right thing in your case.

The role shown in the suggestion search is based on a fixed order and writers are shown before cast, so if you also wrote on the title for which you are most known as an actress, the writer credit takes priority.  A good counter example where this works better is to start searching for "Steven Spielberg" and the suggestion search will show "Director, Saving Private Ryan (1998)" but Spielberg actually has more credits as a producer and he did also produce "Saving Private Ryan" so if/when we fix this bug for you, some people will argue that Spielberg ought to be shown as the director in the suggestion search and not the producer.  It is still the right thing to fix it though.

Sorry, this is not a quick fix.  The problem is logged in a ticket but it will need to wait for other changes to be made to the search system later this year.

Great, thank you so much! I am going to update the page for the web series (Match Not Found) soon as we have now done a second series. When I update it and add another 16 episodes with me listed as actress, writer and producer, will it cause the original problem of listing me as a writer rather than as an actress in the search bar again? Or is it the case that now it's fixed, it won't automatically switch me to a writer if I add on further episodes from a new series? Many thanks and best wishes, Katie
