Separating out two characters that are wrongly marked as the same person

I came across an issue on the credits for the film Swordfish. Sam Shepard played the character Senator Reisman while Tate Donovan appeared uncredited as Senator Reisman's assistant. But they seem to be showing up as the same character, just with slightly different character names. I'm probably not explaining this well but if you go to either of the character's pages you will see that there is only one character for both of them. How can this be fixed?

Thanks for the problem report.  This character is being removed now; unfortunately due to limitations in the character name software, it picked up both character names as if they were the same character on screen.

Found another one of these. From the film Legend - Frances Shea is played by Emily Browning, Frank Shea is played by Colin Morgan. They are siblings. But they seem to be just one character. Frank AKA Frances...or vice versa. Will you please fix this one as well? Thanks!

Thanks, this was a different case.  We just fixed this for you via the public character interface -- someone had simply added Frances Shea's credit to the Frank Shea character page so we un-tagged them and the change should be live later today.

Note that it is best to start a new thread for an issue if it has been marked as SOLVED or ANSWERED as 90% of the time we simply will not see the follow-ups.
