I get a "Server not found" message when I try to access imdb.com Is the website down or is this just something in my area? I live in Romania. Thanks.

I can access the site just fine from here. I did experience some sluggish behavior, and got a couple of error messages when refreshing a message board page about an hour ago, so there might be some load issues or something. Most of the time I can access it just fine, though, so if you can't access it at all, there might be something in your area.

Thank you for reporting this. Could you please let us know how you connect to the Internet (i.e. who is your Internet Service Provider) so we can investigate?

Time Warner Cable is the provider and Imdb has been down for almost 24 hours.

I'm intermittently having the same problem. It seems to be worse using Google Chrome than with Firefox. I am in the central USA. (ATT-DSL)

So Giancarlo, we have heard nothing from you or any representatives from IMDB or it's associates as to why paying loyal IMDB Pro and other customers are not able to access the IMDB website. It is now a problem worldwide, and for me it has been three days of trying to get on to update my daughter's site, with no success, and error messages. Then we were redirected to this blog site, and no one has gotten answers! (Time Warner Cable Roadrunner & Wifi, Los Angeles, CA). I notified Time Warner Cable, and was told it was IMDB's problem and IMDB should be looking into it. Please let us all know so we can track this properly and get back to updating our clients. Thank You!

Must be a DNS problem. I'm in LA. Time Warner Cable I finally found two ip addresses that worked: 207.171.162.180 or 72.21.203.211 The website http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/imdb.... has 232 posters who are having the same problem

Using those ip addresses, I can access the IMDB homepage but cannot login into my account

I can't either using Firefox as the login redirects to another DNS link. HOWEVER, I also use Comodo Dragon browser. In the settings section click on Advanced settings at the bottom of the page and then check the box Enable malware domain filtering (Comodo Secure DNS) This enables you to use COMODO's DNS server. Using that server I was able to login to my IMDB account. In fact, Once you are on the Comodo DNS server, you can access IMDB the usual way i.e. imdb.com IF YOU DON"T WANT TO CHANGE Browsers you can use Google DNS Search for "How to Change to Google DNS for Fast Internet" and follow the instructions

Well I love Google Chrome a little too much to change it. I have found a solution that meets my need. I have changed my primary DNS server address to Google's 8.8.8.8. IMDB is working just fine since then.

Same problem. Yesterday was able to get onto IMDb, today not.
I am in Los Angeles and use Time Warner and cannot access IMDb from Firefox, Safari or Chrome using all the latest versions (server not found).
My computer is an iMac 10.6.8.
My iPhone and iPad (both ios 6) also fail.
HOWEVER, I CAN get onto the website with the very same internet connection by using my MacBook Pro v10.8.4 and Firefox v24.0.
That's how I made this post.
Crazy, huh?

Same problem here in LA. Error message is webpage not loading/cannot find server. I've tried with Safari and with Firefox. Same error with both browsers. Same message whether I attempt to access imdb.com as well as my IMDBpro.com account. My ISP is Time Warner. The only way I can access imdb is via phone with WiFi turned off.

Thanks, John. Is that something I should call Time Warner about? Or should I try to fix it myself?

It's not Time Warner, as it is effecting internet service providers throughout the world. The problem is with IMDB. The post by Employee 1 above indicates that they are working the issue.

It's really driving me bananas because 1) I pay for this service and 2) I need it for my work which is why I pay for it. Is there any ETA on the fix?

Computer's inability to find imdb.com.
Starting around 7 p.m. yesterday until a few minutes ago, neither Firefox nor AOL was able to reach imdb.com (from my computer, anyway). Firefox never got through (I consistently got the message, "Firefox can't find the server at www.imdb.com"; a few times, AOL was able to reach the IMDb, but I was unable to log on. Around 11:20 a.m. today, the problem vanished without my having done anything new to try to remedy it (I had already restarted the computer & cleaned out the cache(s) several times over the 12-plus hour period, to no effect).
I'd be interested to know whether this was a widespread problem or whether it affected only a few users. Thanks.

Redirecting Away from IMDP Page.
I am having difficulty getting on the site and staying on the site. Every time I go to the page, I am redirected to my ISP search page. When I do get on the page, I often get redirected every time I try to navigate through the website. I have run a scan for Malware and Adware, dumped my caches/ history, and done similar things. I will contact my ISP, but is there anything else that could be preventing me from staying on the site? I appreciate any help I can get.

Cannot access IMDB Pro even though I have paid up subscription.
For one week I have been unable to access IMBD Pro even though I have a paid up subscription and have been using it for four years. The site changed it's design and way to connect to IMBD Pro recently. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions for fixes?

IMDB.com Domain Does Not Resolve Through Two Main Verizon Public DNS Servers.
Hello,
I've noticed that I can't resolve the IMDB.com domain through Verizon's Public DNS servers 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 for nearly 10 hours today. Does someone know how to contact IMDB technical support so that they can correct this problem through Verizon?
Thanks!

IMDB website is working fine. It is not down at all. The issue is with DNS resolution.
Here is the solution - Until IMDB fixes the DNS server issue with local ISPs, use public DNS servers like google's 8.8.8.8. I changed mine on both PC and android mobile on morning and IMDB is working again since then with no issues whatsoever. Here is the link for Google's DNS servers https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/?csw=1. Instructions regarding how to change your DNS server is given over there.
If for some reason you insist on using your ISP's DNS servers, then use a proxy site like http://hidemyass.com/ in order to access IMDB.
PS: IMDB please solve the DNS resolution issue fast. It has been over 24 hours now.

Yep. Have not been able to access IMDB from my Personal Macbook or my iPhone when I use the WiFi. Super frustrating. I'm in LA. I need to access my page and do some research STAT. It's been over 24 hours now. It's driving me absolutely insane.
It works on my iPhone when I use 3G, but I really need to get on this site from an actual computer and not a smartphone. Please help.
Time Warner is my ISP.
