several off-the-wall credits

I'm starting to add a large number of credits -- mostly thanks -- to an existing film. I've gone through what I need to add and have collected my questions here ... maybe I'm violating "one topic per thread" ... unless a movie constitutes a thread. ;-)

1) There's a single full-frame item in the middle of the credits that says "Shot on location -- no digital special effects". Doesn't fit in Locations obviously. Trivia? Crazy Credits?

2) There's list of individuals under "funded by". I see how to enter funded by companies (Miscellaneous Companies, role "funding"), but how do I credit individual funders?

3) At the end of that "funded by" list is "300+ individual donors". Crazy Credits? Trivia?

4) Under "many thanks to", one entry is "Dan, Dana, & Daphne". It's in the middle of a list of individuals, so clearly it's three individuals. Almost certainly they are a family, as all other uses of ampersands in this list appear to be for couples. Is there a place for these 3-D people?

5) Farther down under "many thanks to" is a list of companies. One is "Synergy School cast & crew". I know how to attach it to Synergy School (which it looks like I have to create). Do I just leave it at that, or is there a place for "cast & crew"? An attribute?

6) Under "special thanks to". the last entry is "two people who prefer not to be mentioned by name". Any place for this?

Um, thanks ... the "thanks" section thanks you. ;-)

1) Yes Crazy Credits
2) (Uncredited) if not having onscreen credit shown. If shown, leave blank.

3)They can be listed the same way as #2
4)Not Sure on that one
5)

6)There are many anonymous' in the database. Pick a clever attribute or use the one I made up.

Thanks, got it. Except #3. I meant that "300+ individual donors" is the actual text on the screen. So ... Other Crew, Anonymous (any), funding provided by, attribute "300+ individual donors"?

(And if someone else can chime in on #4 ...)

With ”5”, I guess the correct way to add them would be ”thanks: cast & crew”. Meaning, that adding a colon after ”thanks”. The company name is ”Synergy School”.

I would add ”6” only to Crazy Credits, but that’s just me. Not really sure what are the IMDb rules with anonymous names.

I personally don’t add names to IMDb that are literally impossible to identify later on (like a random first name like ”John” or ”Jim” for example). That in mind, not sure how to list number ”4”. At least don’t add the name as ”Dan, Dana, & Daphne” (at least if it isn’t a pop group or something).

EDIT: If "300+ individual donors" is the actual on-screen text, it most likely goes to Crazy Credits. It’s a place for all credits that are out of ordinary (varies a lot what can be added there).

Edward Reid, my five cents on this (adding to Ed's helpful answers):

2) Funding credits separate from producers ones do happen. Those are usually listed as "Miscellaneous Crew" (appears as "Other Crew" when you edit) as "funding", "financing", "financial support" or something like that. If it is credited then it should reflect the credit.

3) Crazy Credits, unless they were specified by name. If they were, all 300 can be added. If they were uncredited individually, but list is available and that's how they were credited... Then they might be added with attribute "(as 300+ Individual Donors)".

4) In cases like that if identification of these persons with additional sources hits the wall I'd go with their names individually, creating pages for Dan, Dana and Daphne with an attribute "(as Dan, Dana & Daphne)", although if that confirms to be a band or collective of similar nature, they can be added as Dan, Dana & Daphne verbatim.

5) Adding to what Ed said job description should be something like "thanks: cast and crew", although I'd rather go with an attribute "(as Synergy School cast & crew)". It's a case-to-case scenario as re-checking and searching might actually result in Synergy School Cast & Crew being the full official title.

6) Again, adding to what Ed said attribute will likely be "(as Two people who prefer not to be mentioned by name)", however otherwise it's what Ed described: two separate anonymous entries.

Hope any of that will be of some help.

Thanks all. Very helpful. I should have just given a link to the credits roll in the first place:

Yes, the 300+ donors are uncredited and are unknown to me. I have no inside knowledge, just what's on screen. I know I could add 300 if they were listed -- I did that for thanks on a film a few years ago.

Sounds like I have good choices for all the questions. I think I'll lean toward Crazy Credits where that's one of the possibility, and let IMDb staff change it if they want.

Synergy School is definitely the organization. They are very much in operation -- see https://synergyschool.org.

Edward, since some of these issues can be a bit tricky, I would probably wait for the "official" reply from IMDb staff before submitting the credits. Just to be sure.

I think you've got everything correct here, unless anything is outstanding?

Will -- i mentioned leaning toward Crazy Credits when opinions varied, leaving staff with the final decision. I'll assume that's OK unless I hear otherwise.

Eboy -- good advice, this is going to take me days at least to enter, so no worry about submitting before staff replies! Past experience led me to figure out my questions before I started entering the data. ;-)
