Shorter plot outlines

Some titles have ridiculously longer plot outlines and they're not getting changed because of the so-called "declined" thing the editors have been resorting to lately.

In this instance, it's the plot of 2.0, an Indian film.

I have shortened and submitted the plot outline as:

"Chitti, a humanoid robot with emotions, is revived by his creator Vaseegaran in order to save Chennai from Pakshirajan who has been targeting cellphone users."

I tried submitting it earlier but it got declined. Whenever I tried.

Please help me by approving this new plot outline. Submission reference: 190910-171303-783000

Don't know what the glitch is, this time plot outlines are getting rejected within seconds. This is making me lose faith in the editors.

I have tried this many times (except the one above):

190910-171704-046000
190910-171855-573000
190910-172110-121000

What a disappointment, editors!

Now where are those "users" who say it with pride that IMDb editors are "never" wrong? And that we must "accept their decisions and move on"? No. Not this time.

On one hand they are giving us the privilege to submit but on the other hand they are rejecting it within 5-10 seconds. Within reloading 4 times, I find it rejected. Which means these "editors" are not even having a look. At least make it "pending" so that there can be some discussion.

But no! Why would they? It's their database, I agree. But if you keep turning us down, we won't support you. It is your database but remember, it's nothing without users. No database is.

I don't know what everyone is up to, but I'm sure I might encounter some editor fans who would criticize me and tell me their "editors" (sorry for highlighting again and again) are the B-E-S-T.

No they're not.

Hi Manish -

Please note that we only allow one Plot Outline per title, so if we have an existing Plot Outline for a title, unless a request to change the outline is correcting an error or includes more specific interesting plot information, we will not accept the change.

In this instance, for the title you referenced the existing Plot Outline was added by an IMDb staff member who received the Plot Outline from an official source.

I believe this was a Plot Summary, and not a Plot Outline. I mean Outlines can’t really be ”ridiculously long”, since there’s a 239 character limit.

https://help.imdb.com/article/contrib...#

If only a Plot Summary is added, it takes (also) the place of a Plot Outline. But if Plot Outline is added, it then replaces the Summary (which then can be found by clicking the Plot section of the title).

Or course, please correct me if I’m wrong, but if the Plot description looks too ”long”, it’s probably Summary - not Outline.

”Plot outlines should be no longer than 239 characters. Longer plots can be submitted as a plot summary.”

Someone had to say it. I tried to, but looks like there won't be any action on it because some user told me that if an editor doesn't reply more than once, "his/her silence is enough to speak that he/she won't help". Something like that.

They can at least remove actor names from the plot outline to shorten it. It is actually a summary as you said.

One point was that have you just tried to add (not correct/delete anything) a Plot Outline for this title? If done right, it should ”replace” the current Plot Summary and mission is accomplished.

Yes. I tried to replace it with a shorter one as you can see in the detailed text mentioned below the query title.

But this mission is fairly impossible to accomplish because the submissions get rejected within some seconds (less than a minute, to be accurate). With that happening, this problem can never be resolved. Huh.

Ah, fair enough. I thought that you were basically trying to edit/correct the existing one.
