Hi Russell Davis,

I believe you are referring to spam from Facebook comments on IMDb's news feed. This is a problem with Facebook. Unless Facebook does a better job at policing spam, IMDb's only alternative is to block all Facebook comments.

It's ironic that IMDb requires use of Facebook to post comments on news items probably in order to impose more control over the comments and prevent junk comments -- and yet we still see comments like "I am making around 15-25 thousand bucks each month for independent occupations I do at home. For everyone prepared to do simple independent work for 2h-5h every day from your parlor and make profitable wage in a similar time. ...."

I figure about one third of Facebook accounts are sockpuppets. However, I also get the feeling that not that many people are bothered by it, least of all the people who actually run either which site. They just do not care. The founder of Facebook went before the Congress of the United States and he might as well have had "I don't care" written all over his face.
