Hi. I have been submitting several music videos as per the guidelines for music videos that was posted. One problem I am running into is how to properly add soundtrack listings for them.
Often band members appear in the videos and I am therefore adding them to the cast list. I am also properly linking to them from the soundtrack listing. The problem I am running into is when a band member doesn't have any existing credits. Obviously if they are in the cast a new name page will be created for them. But is it possible for me to link the soundtrack listing to them in the same submission? Or do I always have to edit the page later to connect the soundtrack listing after the cast submission has created a new name page? The (qv) system doesn't seem to allow the creation of new name pages (I realize this may be intentional to prevent the excessive creation of name pages).
The second issue is that many bands seem to have separate name pages under the name of the band (rather than an individual member). Obviously I can link to it from the soundtrack listing if it already exists. But what if it doesn't exist? Is there a way to create a name page? Should one even exist at all? Are name pages under the band's name even sanctioned by IMDb, or are they just an anomaly of other submissions that really shouldn't exist?
And in that case can I, or should I, add pages for band members that play in the song but don't appear in the music video? This would serve to link multiple videos or motion picture soundtracks to one name. Again, how could I create one without listing them in the cast, if this should even exist?
