Sometimes when I type posts....I have spellcheck built in, and sometimes it's not there...on the same computer. I like having spellcheck for my posts...how do I keep it turned on?

I didn't think IMDB did spellchecking, I use a browser plugin and perhaps that is what is actually happening with you.

IMDb definitely does not have a spell checker. When I access the board with Internet Explorer which does not have a spell checker, misspellings are not flagged. However, when I use Mozilla Foxfire (which has a spell checker), misspellings are flagged with a red underline.
