This company seems to be lacking a country code:
http://www.imdb.com/company/co0031398/

The correct country code is: [de]

http://ambient.de/en/contact/ )

Not sure how to update the country code, but perhaps some of the team can do it.

Hi Eboy,

Thanks for the message.

I have updated the country code to (DE).  Please note this change may take some time to be reflected across all areas of the site.

Thanks for your patience!

I know this thread is marked Solved, but maybe a contributor (perhaps ljdoncel?) is able to answer my question.

Hi, Marco  :

When I read this thread almost 2 years ago I did submit via Helpdesk a complete listing of the (at that moment) 29,226 companies lacking a country code. I even explored the countries of origin of each company's films in order to help determine/narrow down/investigate the actual country code of the company.

Here are some screenshots:

I still have the files in my Dropbox account, so you (or anybody) can still check them:
  • Companies without country code [summary]: PDF file (16,5 Mbytes)
  • Companies without country code [production]: PDF file (6,7 Mbytes)
  • Companies without country code [distributors]: PDF file (2,0 Mbytes)
  • Companies without country code [special effects]: PDF file (434 Kbytes)
  • Companies without country code [other]: PDF file (2,7 Mbytes)
  • Companies without country code [all info]: Excel (XLSX) file (1,8 Mbytes)

However, and I don't remember the exact terms of the Helpdesk answer, but suggested that they deemed this info not very useful, so I didn't insist anymore...

Anyway, this analysis couldn't be performed nowadays using the current public datasets because companies credits are no longer included into them.

Cheers!

Ljdoncel, as always, you've compiled a very useful list. I don't understand why IMDb wouldn't deem this useful.
That being said, I'm still - every now and again - working on your lists of duplicated plot summaries (https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/attn-staff-duplicate-verbatim-plot-summaries) and too short mini-bios (https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/too-short-mini-bios-question-for-ljdoncel), so for now, I'll keep my focus on those. :)

Hi both,

It is no longer possible to enter a company credit without an associated country code, however this wasn't always the case, hence the number of companies without a country code.

I hope this helps explain the situation.

Will
