Stop declining reviews because you disagree with the reviewers opinion.

After having a discussion with several friends this weekend, I found out that my wife and I are not the only one whose reviews are frequently declined for "does not meet our guidelines" when it has to do with disliking a movie due to it's leftist political agenda.

Yes, I have reviewed the guidelines and guarantee there is nothing wrong other than the fact that I'm disliking a movie due to it pushing politics when and where it doesn't belong. For example, I didn't expect the recent Incredibles 2 movie to jam so much feminism down the throats of my children, and therefore I really didn't like the movie.

Moviegoers may not like a movie for a variety of reasons. These are our opinions and our right to do so; we don't all fit into the perfect box that you might think all people should fit in to.

Since the review system allows the staff at IMDb.com to choose the vague "does not meet our guidelines" with absolutely no reason or notification, they are free to censor any content that does not fit their viewpoint, essentially going against everything we as Americans believe in. And it goes both ways; neither side should be censored, and it should be a strong company policy.

Now I doubt my short rant here will have any effect since by nature IMDb needs to support Hollywood, but SJW's censoring opinions (like we see in many news sources) only helps to create a false narrative. When business owners/managers look at feedback/reviews of the past, it helps them make decisions for the future. Nothing good comes from censorship.

By the way, Daniel Wright, you seem to be falling into the quasinew victimhood complex among the "not left wing"; a complex that was not as prevalent among them before as it has become in recent years. Please don't be so quick to jump to the conclusion that a social justice warrior is making a deliberate and brazen attempt to censor views outside the preference of the "social justice" platform, if there is such a thing. We're supposed to rise above the victimology stuff. There are some people who would swear on a stack of bibles that IMDb is some kind of right wing Tory/Republican/puritan propaganda outlet, whereas other people would swear on their mothers' graves that IMDb is some kind of left wing Labour/Democrat/irreverent propaganda outlet, but both kinds of people might just plain be uncertain or blatantly projecting their own insecurities onto others. IMDb is a business. It is not trying run civil, peaceful people away whatever fringe beliefs they may or may not have.
