Hi my recent Pixar short: Lamp Life
"Additional Voices" credit isn't getting added and I get the error message "Submission Declined" "cannot verify" every time I've submitted it to imdb. I have a screenshot of my name in the credits that I uploaded on here on a different thread several days ago, but it hasn't gotten a response nor has IMDB page been updated. I can't figure out what I"m doing wrong. I've attached the screenshot again. Please help! Thank you!

Heather, did you submit these credits to Cast, or to Misc Department? It could be that ”additional voices” goes to Misc Crew:
”Adr/looping/background voices must be submitted as Miscellaneous (Other) Crew credits. When in doubt, send it as a Miscellaneous (Other) Crew credit.”

It’s best to wait for the official answer from IMDb, though. Not sure is there some difference between ”background voice” and ”additional voice”.

Additional voices never belong in misc crew, even if IMDb sometimes think so. (They are the only credits that change department depending on how they are listed in the credits.) However, per the cast guide, since they immediately follow the regular cast, they belong in the cast.

Hopefully, you will get a response from an IMDb rep soon. Sometimes, adding certain types of credits is hard unless you are a top contributor. If this is on the Toy Story 4 DVD, I'm surprised I didn't watch it.

thanks! It's not on the Toy Story DVD. It's a Bo Peep backstory short, but it was made specifically for Disney +.

You could try again adding all additional voices and using the "Provide an explanation to assist in processing this submission" to link to this thread which shows the screen cap plus the rules for Additional Voice credits

I couldn't find the "provide an explanation" area... someone else had mentioned that before, but it never showed up for me. Is it in the submission area itself?

On the submission form there is a little check box that says "please provide an explanation". Checkmark it. Then recheck these updates. It will open a box for adding additional info on the submission form.

Maybe the issue is I'm using the wrong submission form? I have been going in directly from my IMDB page and clicking "edit filmography" (see below). But as I'm playing around on the site I see the Contributor Zone and "adding a new title" but when I click on that I still don't see the "provide an explanation" area...

You are attempting to use an option that I never use.
You need to add the credit from the title page.

You need to go to the title page ( https://m.imdb.com/title/tt10167262/ ) and click ”Edit” from the bottom of the page. Now you can add/correct Cast & Crew credits. With most of the credits, you can tick the ”provide an explanation” box if needed.
But personally I would wait for the official answer from IMDb to where these ”additional voices” credit should go. The guide is a bit confusing at the moment, to be honest. Common sense tells that ”additional voices” are just voice actors and belong to Cast. But not sure about the logic between ”additional voices” and ”background voices”.

E-Boy.....Pay attention to Adrian. He is correct . You have now twice advised the OP to wait for an official reply when none is needed.

thanks everyone. I've added the credit again from the Lamp Life page, not from my page. I really appreciate the help and am crossing my fingers the submission goes through this time.

thank you! I probably submitted it the wrong way though... I used "additional voices" as the credit, not "voice". I really appreciate you submitting it for me. ONE of us will hopefully get accepted. :)

Heather, you should have started at this page.
https://contribute.imdb.com/updates?ref_=tt_cn_edt&edit=legacy%2Ftitle%2Ftt10167262%2F
The submission should look like this. You are a (voice) credit. Not an (additional voices) credit.
If you did more than 1 voice, then (voices) would be correct. "Additional Voices" is a section in the credits, not a job description. You have provided your (voice) and are listed in the "Addition Voices" section.
This is what happens when you use the wrong credit.

This is the correct way............

I have submitted this on your behalf. Hopefully IMDb accepts it.

So, I finally had time to look at this. I've correct the cast list the way that it should appear. Take a look at it.

Hi Heather.
Did you do a single voice over. Or did yo do multiple voices?

It does not matter. The on screen credit is "Additional Voices". I do not believe you will find "Additional Voice" as a credit as it would require knowledge that most contributors would not know and be unable to verify. I edit a lot of animated features and tv shows and I have never seen "Additional Voice" as a credit.

Talking about the attribute Adrian.
I had questioned her earlier.
You just jumped right in and added the same thing I did.
Wanted to know one more time if she did a voice or multiples so that the database is accurate. I was going to make an additional submission to correct it if needed. Maybe you can ask her if she knows what the other voiceover cast did, since you have decided to jump in and take command here. Single or multiple.
I personally would not have added the others without knowing if it should be (voice) or (voices)
I remember Col jumping all over me for not looking before I was leaping to a conclusion. He said it was best to always ask first so as to keep things accurate.
Would you not agree Adrian?

And I did read this and I find the answers questionable. I don't agree with it. Additional voices as a character description is too vague. So I left it out. My submission was approved without a character name. I believe an Idea topic is called for on this ruling.

Here is where I asked earlier.

A repeat

Remember we are talking about an attribute correction from (voice) to (voices) if needed.

Hey Ed and Adrian, thanks so much for the help. Looks to me like it's all set up correctly now in that all of us actors who were credited under "Additional Voices" in the actual credits are listed as "Additional Voices (voice)" in IMDB. Phew! I learned a lot during this process and really appreciate your guidance and knowledge.
