I was unable to submit Palestine as Country of Origin to this film.

The country Palestine did not exist on/in 2012.
Please choose the appropriate equivalent country which did exist then instead.

WTF ?! how did IMDb came up with this historical wrong-fact ?

Palestine certainly exists: I have been there, crossing from the Jordanian border. Should Imdb let itself get dragged into political quagmires? I respect ALL sides involved in this dispute, but as a practical matter, if you don't place a person or film as Palestinian, then where exactly? Plus many countries DO recognize Palestine. A film industry site shouldn't have to KOWTOW to anyone, ever.

Exactly the point.
IMDb is basically telling me, We do not acknowledge Palestine as a Country..
this leaves me with ''Occupied Palestinian Territory'' as a choice.

Looks like "Palestine" cannot be chosen for titles from after 1948.

But note that it is possible to choose "Occupied Palestinian Territory", and that this is apparently *displayed* as "Palestine" on the website:

I have to agree. This site should not decide to discriminate against any nation. Disputed or not.

This is the year that The State of Palestine was recognized by 137 UN members and has had the status of a non-member observer state in the United Nations – which implies recognition of statehood.[26][27][28] It is a member of the Arab League, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, G77, and the International Olympic Committee and other international bodies.
