Submitting exactly 8 nominations

I am having a problem submitting exactly 8 award nominations in a submission. When submitting wins/nominations, you can select from the drop-down list to select 5 wins/nominations or 10 wins/nominations, and since I had 8 to submit, I chose "10 Wins/Nominations" and expected to leave the last two entries blank.

However, when I tried this, I got a red (non-bypassable) warning in entries #9 and #10 saying, "This Win / Nomination has been rejected. You need to correct this Win / Nomination before it will be accepted.
    • Awconst
    • Rank"
There's a good reason why there was no Awconst or Rank on those entries -- I was trying to leave those blank because I wasn't submitting those two entries. I just wanted to submit New #1 through New #8. So without anything filled in there, I can't get to the "Submit these updates" stage.

For further background: This relates to the 2014 Daytime Emmy Awards. "R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour" is currently incorrectly listed as a nominee for Outstanding Pre-School Children's Series. It should actually be listed for Outstanding Children's Series, not in the Pre-School category. None of the other nominated series in either of those two categories is listed yet.

So I prepared a submission to Delete the nomination for "The Haunting Hour" for Outstanding Pre-School Children's Series and Add all the nominations in both categories (four series in each of two categories), all in the same submission. I entered all the titles and all the individual nominees for each series (a total of 61 individual nominees). But I couldn't get past the red warning for the two entries I was leaving blank.

Does anybody have any advice? In case any staffers are reading this, I'm referring to saved but unsubmitted update #140622-022209-024200.

I should note that MayorDefacto advised me of a way to get these nominations submitted, and they have been submitted and processed. Still, this is a bug that needs to be fixed, because there's no reason that a contributor should be prevented from submitting only 8 nominations on a 10-nomination form.

Hi gromit,

apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this. I've just investigated and sadly this issue still remains. This definitely appears to be a bug as there's no reason to treat nomination submissions any differently from other the data types which all happily ignore unused forms. Even the "Cancel this new Win / Nomination." fails to help here.

I have cut a ticket (#0044477726) for our Datatech team to investigate and hopefully they will be able to make this form consistent with the others. I'll update you as soon as I know more.

Thanks again.

It looks like this problem has still not been solved after several years. I just tried to submit 6 nominations in one submission, and I got the same problem that I described in the original post in this thread.

Thanks gromit82, a fix was put in place however other changes to the system last year seem to have re-created the fault. We have a new ticket open already (0142341205) where our tech teams are investigating.

Regards,
Will
