But they are far from being the only Mexican directors, and many others have recognition either from critics or box office both in Mexico and abroad.
From these other Mexican directors, whose filmography would you like to explore the most? if you are already familiar with them, who is your favorite?

I noticed that you didn't get a chance to add a link to your list in your original post. I believe I found the correct list and updated your original post with the link.

'Good poll. And a tough choice between several. I loved Y tu mamá también, so I'd really like to see more of Cuaron's work but I've also wanted to see the films of Marisa Sistach; since Cuaron will probably get a lot more votes, I'll vote for Sistach.
Peter left a really good suggestion above. That happened with one of my polls that included short lists: the line breaks didn't appear in the poll so everything was pushed together and hard to read.

As for your choice, Sistach is an interesting director and one of the very few women working as directors down here.
Carlos Cuarón will probably take most of the votes due to his name, but honestly I think he is one of the least interesting directors on the list from what I have seen. His biggest hit working without his brother is a soccer comedy that now is mostly forgotten.

Regarding the directors I have known, I think Alonso Ruizpalacios is quite good. His last work, Museo, was one of my favorite Mexican films in a long time, and I really think he was quite unlucky to have it released the same year as Roma, without that competition it would have seen more rewarded and seen. It is among many best of the year lists, including the metacritic one that you made into a poll.
I also like Fernando Eimbcke as one that constantly makes good films, while other usually have managed a great picture, but not all their filmography is to be praised, it is a bad thing of having to do popular films in order to remain active.
While I find it boring, Carlos Reygadas is often praised and you may like him if you like the work of people like Tarkovsky or de Oliveira which is quite artistry but not easy to watch.

I did not add his son Jonás as an options since he doesn't have enough films yet, but you can watch Desierto if you want to know him.
