louie armstrong...darlene love...tom waits...buck owens...the kinks...lennon...the ramones...queen...sharon jones and the dap-kings...even slade (one of the most popular christmas songs in the u.k., yet hardly known in the u.s....)....

miss jen...you have outdone yourself on this one...brilliant...brilliant...brilliant...if i could put a lock on this one just to go back to over and over and over again i would...

you have stuff on here i thought i was the only one who ever heard of...an extraordinary composite...

and...i really thought you would be missing my initial reaction to the question, but alas, you succeeded in even this one...

my vote goes to...'fairytale of new york' by the pogues...

thank you for this early christmas present miss jen...and a very happy new year to ya' as well...

peace...

Thanks for the kudos!

Here's one I just found but the list is full and I can't seem to drop any of those that are already on it...

My vote:
Christmas, Baby Please Come Home by Darlene Love

By the way, do not attempt to edit your list. Your green-red formatting will be lost. IMDb currently does not support this formatting for lists; I'm not certain what would happen if/when this poll were to go live.

I am able to add color tags in image descriptions just as Jen has, so I'm not sure there's a problem. The colors are not displayed in edit mode, and they don't seem to work in the top description field, but the image descriptions are different.

Here is an example of where the color is displayed in the description field:

I don't know why the colors aren't shown in other lists.

"Last Christmas" and "All I Want For Christmas Is You" must be some of the most-played Christmas songs in the world, so I wouldn't call them alternative.

And my jingle bells are private, thanks!

Nasty! :p

Good point on those two. I will swap them out for less well-known songs.

Pulled those and Blue Christmas, added three more - waiting for some photos to get approved.

'Good one! And good list of songs - I'm still deciding which one could get my vote. Tom Waits maybe.

FYC:
"Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses

Oops, I looked again and realized you have "Christmas Wrapping." I'm still getting used to these new lists and if I just hover over the image, sometimes I miss something. When I put it into list form, I noticed John Lennon's "Happy Christmas (War is Over)" and Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas;" I love those songs so one of those will get my vote, even though there are several others I like, as well.

I think so. Do I need to remove the colors on the text?

Jen,

Keep the colors in. It looks like they work for:
http://www.imdb.com/list/ls066275752/mediaviewer/rm2055575552

... and will probably work if/when this becomes a poll. If nothing else, this should serve as a test case.

I know that this poll has gone live a long time ago. But to just to keep this page alive like the “What was the Last Film You Saw and How Would You Rate It”. You see, I collect Christmas songs as a hobby. Here are some my favorites besides “Drummer Boy” which is my all time favorite.
- “The Closing Of The Year” by Wendy and Lisa and the musical cast of “Toys”. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=R9geCS0...
- “Breath Of Heaven” by Amy Grant https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6RVTZDg...
- “The Governor’s Dream” by Roger Whittaker https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=th5GY1_...
- anything by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, specially their version of “What Child Is This” (Sorry but “Christmas Eve/ Saravajo” was recorded first by the group’s orginnal band Savatage on Savatage’s “Dead Winter Dead” album.)
- “Ring Out, Solstice Bells” by Jethro Tull https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6qcPS-J...
- “It Wasn’t His Child” by Trisha Yearwood, but I like Sawyer Brown’s cover of it better. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WMcrcp6...
