With the disappointing news that director Danny Boyle has left the Bond 25 (2019) project due to "creative differences" (reportedly a casting dispute) Eon Productions, led by Cubby Broccoli's heirs, Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, is on the hunt for a new director, fast. Shooting was supposed to commence soon and a delay in the project threatens its planned release date in November 2019.
While several names have been bandied about as replacements, there are a few that appear to be front-runners. Who would you choose to direct Daniel Craig's swansong?

Here is my reasoning
He Directed
Red Dragon (2002) with Anthony Hopkins ...as Dr. Hannibal Lecter
And he has directed all 3 Rush Hour Movies
He is capable of putting some more tongue in cheek humor, back into the series.
This is the same thing that JJ Abrams did with Star Trek.
Just a suggestion for the list.

Ratner has been persona non grata since the Me Too Movement got going, and he's involved in some lawsuits right now. Besides, EON would NEVER let him - he is the antithesis of what they are looking for.
The Wachowskis are also NOT what EON would be looking for. They've been on the down low since Sense8 got axed.
An American has never directed an EON Bond film.

Not to many warmed up to the idea of "M" played by Judi Dench
A Female Bond! I think if Ian Flemming was alive today he might write a story that has James bond having a Daughter. He after all, he is a ladies man. The idea that he would never have an offspring is ludicrous. And why would any child not want to be like their father or mother. That is if your mother/father were secret agents!
Bruce Willis' recent Die Hard had his son as a character.

Also is it me, but does it seem that the gadgets that "Q" used to come up with are utilized less and less. Bond usually had and used 4-6 of these gadgets in most of the Connery era pictures.

Jackson is in post-production on a project.
I think the new Q works a bit more on the fly - he pops up as needed, sometimes even under fire, rather offering an explanation of a few gadgets at the beginning and disappearing for the rest of the movie.

It's not that Nolan would be great, when the news came out, most commentators were talking about Nolan. Nolan wins this poll.

I've read several articles and NOT ONE has mentioned has mentioned Nolan.
I've thought about it and I'm going to drop Ranter and the Wachowskis. It's silly to include someone who has zero chance.

I was talking about users' comments (via Facebook or comment sections). Maybe Nolan's named hasn't been mentioned by any movie expert, but I think it's a quasi-mathematical certainty that if you drop Nolan in this poll, he'll be in the Top 3 at least, and I bet he'll be the first choice. That's all.
I recommended Nolan because he have great experiences with serious drama action movie like he did with Dark Knight. Bond is nothing with action. The Bond, Skyfall, was so successful because in my opinion, a very good mix of drama and action. Nolan could bring it back.

Now if they cannot get him on The MCU there are some very good choices for EON to steal and do very interesting things with James Bond
The Russo Brothers after they Finish with Avengers 4. With their work on Winter Soldier they know the spying world and they are perfect for Craig Bond.
John Fabreau who knows how to work with a character who uses a lot of technology but is still human he could bring some of the humor the franchise had when Pierce Brosnan was Bond.
Ryan Coogler The Black Panther Film had a few Bond like moments and getting the director of the first Billion dollar film of the year would be a step in the right direction.

Wouldn't that depend upon what Steve McQueen as a specific individual thinks of the matter? He seems more than capable of directing (and perhaps willing to) a Bond actor of any color. He should know that, but we'd have to ask him to be sure.

That's why I questioned that statement. The fact that McQueen has used Michael Fassbender as the lead in several of his films shows that he doesn't only work with black actors.

I didn't say that a black director can only direct a black actor. In facts, McQueen got his biggest prize by directed and produced, I'm sorry for my word, I don't mean to be racist, a "black movie with "black lead actor".
I'm pretty sure he would be great too to direct last Craig's Bond, but he's probably the best English director at the moment if the franchise decided to make a black Bond.

I think the world has gone so sensitive that whatever one would say about any subject related to gender, sexuality or ethnicity, anyone can take offense of it. I can imagine the following dialogue:
"- How racist! So you don't think there can't be a Black James Bond?
- Sure it's possible, but then the film must be directed by a black director.
- How patronizing! So you think black directors can only make movies with black protagonists?
- You're right, a white director can do it as well.
- How condescending! Now, you're saying that a black director can't direct a blockbuster James Bond movie?"
Reminds me of a scene where Skinner handled feminists in "The Simpsons" and ended on the floor victim of a stroke.

ElM., it may be more about questioning assumptions. People are sensitive about age, weight, fitness, nationality, affiliation, income, profession and educational attainment too. There are people who are talented at a number of things, but for some reason, they are only popularly recognized for one of those talents. It's perfectly reasonable that the situation might displease them. The takeaway for all of this is that people should think about why they think they way they think. Seemingly most people will not bother to do that until asked to do it.
People should think about why they think the way they think, that's a quote for the ages, I think it sums up perfectly the way I also feel about these so-called touchy issues. Speaking for myself, I'm glad I can be open to any subject and don't take offense easily, the only things that can get on my nerves is 'double standards' and even that, I learned to deal with it.

Not only what you're saying is outrageous but it's completely untrue not to give it a dirty word, I dare you to copy-paste links that would make your point, if anything I had spent the whole last month making new polls that I've tried to keep as original as possible. So maybe you should just moderate your own anti-anti-PC radar.
