We are saddened to announce that acclaimed German cinematographer Michael Ballhaus has passed away. Over his 44 year career he was director of photography on 73 films. His career sadly ended in 2013 when he began to go blind due to cataracts.

Ballhaus frequently worked with the same directors again and again. Of these three directors he most often worked with who do you feel he did the best work with?

I think it would be more interesting to list the titles he worked in, and the most famous ones.

- It's a shame really but no one is familiar with Fassbinder's movies (by "no one" I mean that it won't get a substantial amount of votes)
- While I'm sure they had top-notch lighting and photography, it's not as the Mike Nichols' movies were celebrated for the way they looked

Obviously, Martin Scorsese will take the lion share of votes, and rightfully so, since he always had style and wanted to give a cool and edgy look to his films, but instead of having Scorsese getting 250 votes, Nichols 35 and Fassbinder 15, it would be fun to see which Marty's films would get the most votes.

I did list the movies... Or do you mean individual movies?

Can't decide between Fassbinder and Scorsese... oh well, I choose for Scorsese.
