Popular musician Chris Cornell, best known as the lead singer of pioneering grunge band Soundgarden has died suddenly at the age of 52. Cornell was a talented songwriter who was also the lead singer of Audioslave had a screaming wail of a voice so beautiful it could bring tears to your eyes. He was voted "Rock's Greatest Singer" by readers of Guitar World, ranked fourth in the list of "Heavy Metal's All-Time Top 100 Vocalists" by Hit Parader, ninth in the list of "Best Lead Singers of All Time" by Rolling Stone and 12th in MTV's "22 Greatest Voices in Music".

as proof...you can tell just by the care and time she puts into these polls...it's certainly not by habit or rote...the information jen shares, (in every poll of this sort), she does it for those who knew of them, as well as for those who never heard of them before...and i for one, (who is still trying to get over the loss of leonard cohen), appreciate her efforts...
i love ya' sdk...and no offense was ever intended from me either...

Thanks for your reply, actually, your answer made me realize that I should have put the question in more simple terms. The way I asked it, it was so ambiguous I could understand rocky's reaction as if I had implied it was some opportunistic mindset etc.
So, yes, you wouldn't suggest these polls systematically, there has to be a decent amount of appreciation toward the artist. That's all I wanted to know.
