While the most famous and cuddly citizens of the classic children's show Sesame Street are Jim Henson's Muppets (mop + puppet), human characters have always played an important part as well. Over the past 47 years, the humans on the show have functioned as both role models, teachers and confidants.

My favorite is the same as Big Bird's probably favorite, Mr. Harold Hooper (1969–1983), played by Will Lee until his death.

I watched Sesame Street from the beginning with my younger brother.

I picked Buffy. I have a very specific memory of her sitting on one of the stoops playing a mouthbow.
