If there is both an original book and a film made from or based on it, how do you proceed?

-I make a point of reading the book before watching the film - the book is always better than the film.
-I read the book after seeing the film - I want to know what changed and if there are any details or plot threads that weren't included in the book.
-I watch the film - I couldn't care less about reading the book.
-I read the book - I will never watch the film as there is no way it could stand up to the book version.
-I watch the film - I don't have time to waste on a book.

I watch the film - I would read the book out of curiosity to compare the story.

Thank you, thank you. My pick is option #1, though that doesn't always happen - sometimes I see a movie only to find afterwards it was based on a book.

I like this poll but I can't see the difference (semantics wise) between two negative options.

I watch the film - I couldn't care less about reading the book.
and
I watch the film - I don't have time to waste on a book.

Time is key in the second option but tonally they seem the same.  The emphasis of the second one should be on not having enough time in a give period but the word waste makes the book reading the negative which doesn't mean lack of desire but inability to read due to time constraints.

Most movies based on famous book?  Being lazy,  a really picky and slow reader, I will vote for ...
I watch the film - I couldn't care less about reading the book.
