Supervising director

Most animated features have a position called "supervising director" and occasionally, "executive supervising director." Generally, I have seen these listed in the directors section of credits. However, I've noticed that on The Simpsons, these credits are now in the "second/assistant director". This doesn't seem quite right to me but maybe I'm wrong. Where should these credits be listed.

It’s true that some are indeed listed in the director section, but I believe they still belong to assistant directors. Not 100% sure, though.

With some animations, ”director” is not listed at all in the episodes but ”supervisor director” and/or ”animation director” (or ”dialogue director” etc) are. Go figure.

Hi Adrian -

These credits belong under the Director Section.  Cheers!

I'll start fixing The Simpsons episodes but this could be a ton of work depending on how many of the 29 seasons were changed. I was putting the credits in the director section but someone has changed it. It probably needs to be communicated back to them that what they are doing is wrong. If that data editor is like me there are probably shows like Bob's Burgers that was also changed.

Ugh. It looks like someone changed all 219 episodes of the Simpsons. Is there an easier way to correct these?
