Since IMDb strives for accuracy, let's switch it up and display the actual vote and require a click to see, instead, the weighted score. I am not sure that anyone really cares to see the weighted score any more since it obviously is not reflective of what people have actually seen until years and thousands of votes later.

The actual score may/may not be manipulated and inaccurate...but the weighted version definitely is.

It would make a good stop-gap solution until they can fix the weighting one way or another, my favourite fix is:

After all, for popular films, weighting doesn't make much of a dent, while it currently hammers less well-known films.

That's what I was thinking too. It's a quick fix, no need to rebuild the whole system, just change the display, until they can reconsider and make corrections of the weighting system.

Really, it doesn't change anything, and i am sure anyone "using" the data would click in and take a look anyways, but it might curtail the panic people are showing when seeing that, way out of line, low number on these small films.
