I am not sure how others use their watch list but I use it primarily as a way to keep check of movies and TV show episodes that are set to be released (eg Marvel and DC's upcoming projects). Seeing as I find it to be a slight hassle having to go into each individual listing's page and then their news feed, I would like to propose an idea. The ability to have a tailored news feed specific to what the user wants to see. This could be news on anything found on the site already such as actors, TV, movies, and events. This way the user can happily scroll through articles on only the things that interest them as well as the ability to remove those that don't (such as spoilers when the time arises).

Hi Isabella Wilson,

Effectively you are suggesting something similar to Google News (https://news.google.com/) and Google Alerts (https://www.google.com/alerts).

In theory, IMDb could filter news articles based upon what you have in your Watchlist (http://www.imdb.com/watchlist) for articles related to specific films and television programs. IMDb would have to implement a similar people Watchlist to be able to filter on people. A few people on IMDb's Get Satisfaction site have suggested this people Watchlist.

This could be a very useful feature, for finding news about specific project. However, it would not completely protect the user against spoilers. IMDb assigns articles to specific titles and people based upon the appearance of titles and names in the articles. Unfortunately, news articles may include information about multiple titles and people; the restricted set of news articles may still include information about titles and people the user wishes to avoid.

IMDb has implemented Notifications in the Android App. It allows you to enter specific Titles and/or Names, and notifies you when there is information about them.

As far as I know this option is currently only available in the Android App.
