Older man teaches young guy how to hustle or con people. Takes him under his wing.

Movies it is not: the color of money; repo man; the hustler; the grifters; red rock west; kazaam; planes, trains and automobiles...

Probably a low budget b-movie.

Final scene stuck with me: he eventually steal the younger guy's car when the young lad stops for a leak behind a bush on a deserted, desert highway. He gets away without making a sound. He's best con yet?

Anyway, been looking for this movie for years and tried asking on Reddit on a couple of occasions, but they are bunch of unreasonable adolescents over there and incapable of maturity. Hoping to find better results here. Thanks.

I doubt that would work, as I know so little about the film. The only thing I can remember is the final scene had an affect on me, but I can't even recall that very well visually in my mind. I wouldn't know the name if it hit me over the head and I've no idea who's in the film. And that year '88 is a guess. It could be just as easy '84 as '89. I was hoping my description of the final scene might spark someone's memory.

Final scene happens in day time. Older guy is passenger in younger guy's car. It may be a convertible, but I could be wrong about this. When he stops for a leak it may have been the older guys idea and then the younger guy decides he wants one too, and that's when the getaway happens. Either way the older guy con him out of his car and somehow does it without making a sound. The no car and no man. Younger guy stranded, perhaps impressed by the quality of the hustle. Probably a TV movie.

I gets the feeling I may never find this film.
