and 5 of the 7 results are for TV series with NO episodes listed. It might be useful to know if they both appeared in the TV series some time. But my aim was to see if they appeared in the same episode.
This feels different from what the OP reported. It seems that you've eliminated the specific episode. I believe the OP mean the umbrella title was the superfluous entry.
Edited to add: I suppose the 5 TV results in the search above don't have episodes because there are NO common episodes. If you continue to display a result like this, it would be best to note that no common episodes were found.
Also, the prior version of search gave a URL that allowed us to control which media we wanted, so we could eliminate TV or feature or other appearances. This gives us no control. Can we get that detailed URL again?

But this Name collab is stilll a problem:
Most Popular Titles With Reginald Owen And Reginald Gardiner
http://www.imdb.com/search/title?roles=nm0654239,nm0306786
includes Bewitched (1964–1972)
Reginald Owen is in 2 Episodes:
- Mc Tavish (1968) ... Ockie
- The Short Happy Circuit of Aunt Clara (1966) ... Ocky
Reginald Gardiner is in 1:
- I Get Your Nannie, You Get My Goat (1967) ... Lord Clive Montdrako
Being in different episodes would not satisfy my definition of collaboration

Also, after viewing the titles found, when I go back a page, it automatically erases the second name. It's easy enough to erase the name myself; it would be nicer to retain both so I'd have the option to replace the first name or the second name myself.
When I access this feature from the Advanced Search menu page (instead of from the Credited With link on a person's page), then going back from the titles-found to the name-entry page erases both people. Again, it would be nicer to keep the names, and let me replace whichever one or both that I choose.
(When I go back to the name-entry page, it's far more likely that I want to do a second search with one of those names than that I want to start with a completely different pair.)

Nice! The collab name search again gives us the url we can refine.

But the things in my more recent post above, about the name boxes being cleared, isn't really fixed. I tried it from the Advanced Search page (not from a person's page), and when I go Back to the Search boxes page, then the first name id remains in the box. But then I went Forward to see which ID it kept, and when I went Back a second time, the other id showed instead. So I went Forward to see what would happen on the third Back, and it cleared both name boxes. My preference would be that BOTH id's be kept, although seeing their names would be better.
And nothing has changed about disambiguating between the various Bill Robinsons.
Did this on Chrome on a Chromebook, scripts/extensions off.
