I am a graduate student studying electrical engineering. I am studing network dynamics of particular social network types that involve group interactions, and the groups formed by the cast of a film would be a perfect data set for me to work with. Strictly speaking, I'm developing a new method of data mining for my thesis, and so this falls into that realm, but I am asking if it would be possible to use the data from IMDb for this purpose? The data would not be for corporate use or for my own business purposes, but only as a data set to help further my research. I have read the FAQ and the terms of use, and I feel as though this request might require special permission. Once again, no personal gain for me here except to advance my research, and IMDb would, of course, by cited in any of my publications regarding this work. Thanks!
