A filmmaker on IMDB is listing the same projects multiple times under various names, as he re-writes the script, keeping the identical plot, so he'll have one version listed as "in production" and another version listed as "completed" though not specifying that what was completed was only a sizzle reel, instead it looks like a full feature film was completed under his directorial auspices. He's done this with at least two projects. I voice my concern because he has been scamming people, especially women, out of money, asking them to "support his projects." He's making himself look like a credible filmmaker in order to bilk women out of over 100k thus far that he uses to live on. IMDB is complicit in allowing him to appear as a legitimate filmmaker, though he has told me that he has not completed a single feature film directorial project. He was also taken off one project where he is listed as the director, according to the project's creator, and he was taken off as director from another project according to the credits-- still he retains the IMDB director credit on both thus far. He has none or very few director credits, but IMDB makes him appear as though he has at least 13 director credits (even more on IMDB Pro). His last project is listed as "filming" but he ran out of money and left his cast and crew on location without even paying the hotel bill. Is IMDB vetting filmmakers, or is IMDB creating an opportunity for catfish and predators to hurt and fool people by allowing them to appear legitimate? Does IMDB want to be sued once a situation like this one turns even uglier? Or does IMDB want to make themselves available to actively protect users? I also know of another scammer who is preying on underage girls, who IMDB has received numerous complaints about from parents of cast, but still I just saw he has an IMDB page. IMDB appears to be lacking the staff needed to tackle these very real and very dangerous problems.
