Foghorn Leghorn is my pick from your list.
FYC:
Clementine the Ostrich - Swiss Family Robinson
Orville - The Rescuers
The Great Owl - The Secret of NIMH

Thanks, Good Suggestions. I like to max out in the 25-30 range for answer options. I just cut the The Great Owl - The Secret of NIMH and Orville - The Rescuers options, the other day from the list, I like both, but didn't think they were viable options since both were limited to the single appearance. Plus the age, popularity and iconic status of the characters places them on the fringe of answer options.

What a great idea for a poll and it's so well done. My vote: Woodstock, although I like several of them. Oh, I love how you include species info. : )

Thanks, it was from the old message boards, so it is much more polished that a poll suggestion starting from scratch. The one drawback is too many notable bird characters to list them all. I didn't realize what a big mystery Woodstock species is until doing the poll? The one bird character I would like to get on the poll is the NBC Peacock. The peacock has been a character on several NBC TV shows, as well as a TV icon in its own right.

He was considered, but just missed the cut. He would have been the sixth duck and third American Pekin duck. I am sure he would have made the top 25 in votes. But opted for having a balanced and well rounded selection of species, instead of one that was dominated by duck/parrot/penguin/chicken characters. Also, omitted American Pekin ducks were Daisy Duck, Lauchpad McQuack, Ludwig Von Drake, Huey, Dewey and Louie among others.
