This rating seems a bit messed up!

The ratings page of Episode 1 of the TV Series The Blue Planet shows a rating of 6.6, which I thought was very low for such a respected series. So I checked the ratings page:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0846812/ratings?ref_=tt_ov_rt
This shows a surprisingly large proportion of people giving a 1 rating. Who are these people. Well, on further inspection Males give 8.6 rating and females 8.2 rating, so they must be either hermaphrodite or android. US users give 8.5 rating and non-US users 8.6 so they must live offshore. All age groups give a rating in excess of 8.4 so they must be either very young or very old.
So, I can only conclude that there is either a fault in the rating process or there are a lot of offshore hermaphrodite fish offended by having their privacy invaded, or maybe outraged that in the US they don't use the David Attenbrough voice-over but bizarrely go for Pierce Brosnan (!!!!!).

And don't forget that not everyone gives their demographics when they set up an IMDb account. Hence the, um, fishy appearance of the downvoters.
