I hope you guys are well.
My name is Nicole Slater, I'm a talent manager with SLATER and Vision League EntertainmentTM.
I can't find the words to express the outrage and humiliation my team and I feel regarding our recent negative confrontations with apparently "unofficial reps" using the most heinous methods to humiliate, blackmail and sabotage the career of one of my actors.

We don't know if you guys have been aware of this, we tried our best to stop it early on because its not right for somebody's work and career to be manipulated this way and for him to be humiliated publicly.

We tried getting in touch with IMDb privately but unfortunately didn't succeed leaving this dashboard as a last resource.

Please try to read the entire conversation carefully as there's a lot of important information attached.

We don't suspect our actor's career is being intentionally sabotaged but if somebody is using IMDb to abuse his work, we would be very grateful if you guys were to put a stop to it.

We hope this incident sheds important light on situations where IMDb is being misused to hurt aspiring artists and we truly hope we can all work together in making IMDb a safe and reliable resource for our artists.

All the adjustments we made in terms of credits are in the position where his name was supposed to appear according to his contracts and the work he conducted on the project, like I mentioned earlier, we don't know which filmmakers kept their word and because this is apparently a site where anybody can add information, the order of his name in the credits is always and constantly mysteriously changing so we do our best to make sure he's at least visible in the credits.
Assuming that this is your full time job, and what you are doing is not an act of  discrimination against our actor where he's being specifically excluded for a reason we are yet to discover, I have attached various movies where the names of characters and order of credits differ from how they appear in the film. I need you and your friends to watch every single one of these films the same way you did to my client and fix each and every single character and its order in credits one by one:

Another very important subject we can't understand is, how come you have the power to make a change on somebody's IMDb page and the change would appear within seconds even though it might be wrong yet it takes us (The official reps of the talent) sometimes weeks to add information or adjust an error?

I think that your biggest problem is that you do not understand how IMDb works. You would do yourself (and your clients) a great service by actually reading the contribution guides and following the rules set forth in them. For example, you say:

His contracts are irrelevant to IMDb. In fact, most people editing data have no idea what the contracts are. We go by on screen credits. If you want to change data, then you will have to follow that rule.

First, you have to realize that IMDb is a crowdsourced information system. The data is provided by users. Second, I believe all contributors have an accuracy ranking which shows determines how trusted the information provided is. Most data editors spend a lot of free time editing IMDb to insure it's accuracy. I had over 60,000 edits last year and I've been a top contributor for the past two years. We also follow the guidelines which you have already admitted to either ignoring or not knowing. The reason it probably takes you longer to try and do something is you are simply not following the guidelines.

Thank you, yes I see that. I wonder why only one was changed then. It would have been a bit of a no-brainer to change them all when in there and editing I would have thought.

Only one was changed because possibly the edit was made to the actor's filmography rather than to the work's cast list.

Normally, I would take responsibility for this as I change the order to be correct. However, I just looked at my edit and for some reason Saif was already credited as a singular where all the other credits were plurals. I'm not sure why I did not notice this as I fixed other inconsistencies. I just edited the cast list again so all characters are singular.

IMDb tracks each contributor's accuracy over time and if any contributor repeatedly submits data which is inaccurate or which violates our policies, their contributions will require increasing levels of additional proof in order to be processed.

I see that the credits in the movie pages I attached above were not fixed according to " our policy is to reflect the credits as they appear on screen"  which leads us to wondering if we are facing a conspiracy against our work? or does IMDb simply selects specific people where it decides to demonstrate its "policies" ?

Hello Eboy,

We were extremely grateful that he personally took the time to get in touch with us, it was incredibly professional of him. We as a company are relatively new, trying to learn as much as possible and most importantly push our clients into a very competitive environment. As much as I'm ashamed with my confrontations towards the unemployed members of the site, it was extremely important that we tried to put a perspective on how delicate matters needed to be treated, specially when they're open to the public and most importantly put a stop to their negative accusations. Unfortunately as far as we know, IMDb does not provide a privet space where professionals can exchange information, so we truly found ourselves dragged in this situation and from now on, if we ever have a concern, we will always be afraid to ask or to post it here from similar vicious attacks that might come up. We had absolutely no idea our client's name was spelled wrong in many of the projects he made and to make matters worse, contrary to his work on those projects, filmmakers placed his name way below in the credits. Had it not been to members of IMDb reflecting on this issue, we would have remained completely oblivious to that fact, so for this we are very grateful. Moving forward we will definitely cherish this experience and always do our best to make IMDb a better safer place. Thanks to everybody who contributed to my claim, you guys have opened our eyes to a lot of valuable information.
