I have personal issues with the description given for the movie: Boy's Don't Cry. It's extremely transphobic and implies that trans* do not exist. It implies that it is simply someone cross dressing. This is the current description: "A young gay girl adopts the male identity of Brandon Teena and attempts to find love in Nebraska." I want this fixed ASAP.

The current plot may have originally come from the studio or another user.

The plot description from the official website appears to be more sensitive.

Based on a true story, Boys Don't Cry was adapted from the life of Brandon Teena, born Teena Brandon, a woman who chose to live her life as a man and suffered tragic consequences as a result.

I don't think the current outline is substantially different from the official site's description. Why do you think so?

I don't think the outline implies what you say it does. You could call the character male, or transgender. But that doesn't mean it is "phobic" to say that she's a girl who adopts a different identity.

Out of interest I found an interview with the film's director, Kimberly Peirce. Would you also take issue with her version?
I fell in love with this trailer-park girl who didn't have any money and didn't have any role models, yet took this imaginative leap and transformed herself, which is extraordinary. She just put on a cowboy hat, put a sock in her pants, and started asking girls out.
