Transphobic description in IMDb entry

Based on a true story, Boys Don't Cry was adapted from the life of Brandon Teena, born Teena Brandon, a woman who chose to live her life as a man and suffered tragic consequences as a result.

I don't think the outline implies what you say it does. You could call the character male, or transgender. But that doesn't mean it is "phobic" to say that she's a girl who adopts a different identity.

Out of interest I found an interview with the film's director, Kimberly Peirce. Would you also take issue with her version?
