Tricky Awards Correction

When IMDb changed its awards submission process a couple years ago, all awards not submitted as 1st place wins were automatically defaulted to nominations. This required filmmakers to resubmit previous (non-first place) award wins, such as a 2nd Place Jury Prize, or a Silver Award, or Bronze Remi, etc. in order to be recorded as wins once again.

The problem I'm having concerns two awards from the Bare Bones Int'l Film Festival - a 3rd Place Bonehead Award from 2014 and a 2nd Place Bonehead Award from 2015. This festival doesn't maintain a record of past winners from year-to-year on its website. Instead, it publishes its annual finalists and winners using PDFs linked from its website, and then deactivates these links sometime before the next annual fest.

How can I resubmit these awards without having an active link to Bare Bones' 2014 and 2015 winners for IMDb staffers to verify -- as they had already done with the original submissions?

Thanks Peter. I'll try that. One is there and one isn't - but half way. Thanks!

Hi Seth,

It is dependent on the event in question and how it is structured. If these are given a separate award title for example, Bronze Award/Silver Award etc. by the awarding body in the official documentation then these are treated as an independent award win and can be submitted as one. However, in most cases, a second or 3rd place award nomination is not treated as a win on an IMDb event page, if it is for the same award. Please note that any Silver or Bronze Awards have to be ratified by the official documentation from the awarding body otherwise they will be rejected.

I hope this helps explain the policy.

Regards,
Will

Thanks for your response Will. This event has always used 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place Bonehead Award as its naming convention for award winners. I have the hardware from each of my wins at this festival.
