Trivia Update Approved but Not Shown (Part 2)

Last Tuesday I posted a question about a title I recently submitted, and it turned out I was just being impatient - the issue resolved itself the next day.

I think I might need to write in about this one, because when someone posted this same problem a year ago, a rep from IMDB responded with a request for more info.

On 22-JAN, I submitted a new title with a single bit of trivia attached as contribution 170122-234014-312000. The title and trivia submissions were quickly approved for publication (with big thanks to the IMDB staff):

However, as of today (10 days post-submission), the trivia is still not linked to the title. Understandably, the Data Processing Times page advises that Trivia has the largest backlog of all the data types (2028 unprocessed items). The fact that the date of the Oldest Item is 25-JAN, makes me think that my 22-JAN trivia might be "lost in space".

Thanks in advance for any help someone might lend. I appreciate everyone at IMDB and am humbled to be a part of this community.

Hi Mike,

It looks as if you added the title twice in a short space of time which meant that they were merged and this data was lost. Please can you try again entering just this one piece of trivia by using the edit page option here http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6456610/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2 as opposed to a whole new title?

Thanks.

Done (170202-154939-585000). Thanks, Will, for getting back to me so quickly.

By the way: the second entry you mentioned was actually a website glitch, it wasn't me trying to add the title a second time. I know this is off-topic, but I'm presenting the details here in case it helps anyone else. I think this might be an existing condition where an update to a submission asking for a valid explanation generates an entirely new duplicate submission (see this post, as an example).

The morning after I submitting our new title (170122-234014-312000), I followed the "Track Contribution" link in my receipt email. I wasn't expecting it to be approved that quickly, but I was surprised to see that it had. The page provided me with a link to the title, even though it was not yet searchable from IMDb.com. This link allowed me to submit our movie poster (170123-140323-184502).

I noticed at that time that the trivia was not listed on the page, so I browsed to my Contribution History and clicked the link for my initial submission to confirm that I had indeed submitted it. I was met with the message "Your updates aren't quite ready to submit to our data-editors" along with a red area right at the top saying "This title has been rejected. You need to correct this title before it will be accepted" and "You must provide a valid explanation". This seemed odd, considering I had an approved message and a link that allowed me to add the movie poster. Please note that this is what it looks like even today when I click on the link to the contribution:

Back to the 23rd ... I didn't want to hold up the process, so I dutifully added an explanation: it was released in a cinema, released on the web and is available to the public, it was accepted and shown in a film festival and was being presented with third party evidentiary links. I pressed the "Re-check these updates" button. Since everything came back green, I pressed "Submit these updates", thinking it would be an update to 170122-234014-312000 that would get re-submitted to the IMDb editors. To my surprise, I got an email saying I had made an identical title submission as 170123-145038-376000.

So there is some kind of glitch that took my submission of updates and turned it into an identical new title submission.

Sorry for the novel, but I wanted to be thorough. Thanks for your continued attention.

I know Trivia is not a Platinum data type, but the trivia request as resubmitted just now was processed in about 20 minutes. I don't know if you had a hand in that Will, thanks so much if you did!
