Hi

This is an unreachable movie: Aspern [1982] https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088743.

Only under reachable and lendable in some National Film Archives (Paris, Madrid ...), and very few lucky collectors all over the World (VHS record from TV 1980s).

Anybody can help me to get it?

Greetings from Spain!

Hello, Pedro.

Usually in cases like that bootlegs from VHS recordings should exist somewhere, considering there was a TV showing.

It is a great problem that many movies are only available (if available) in bootlegs. There are enthusiastic distributors who are slowly unerathing some of such movies and give them proper home video releases, but it's going rather slowly.

Hello Nikolay

You are right.

Furthermore, I can confirm you that movie was in TV in England or France at least. I know a very important person in US who has a bootleg from VHS recording. Unfortunately he cannot find VHS case now.

Maybe someone near to National Film Archive in Paris can get a copy.

Thanks anyhow for your comments.

Hi Pedro,

The French National Film Archive is not involved in distribution, which is always dependant on film rights.

I would say at this stage that you have to cross your fingers that the film will popup on some movie buff channel and someone will be able to get a digital copy of it.
Anyway, I will ask for it on a dedicated FB group I am part of.

Hi Vincent

I agree with you. Not only rights but only research or education purposes. I know.
In Spanish Film Archive it is said "lendable", which I do not know exactly if it can be lent to a visitor. Also I do not know if it is digital format ...

I will appreciate if you keep me informed if any news arised in your FB group.

Have a good day! :)

I will.
I also tried the online catalogue of the Paris public libraries, but nothing. Probably because it seems the movie was never released on DVD.

Yes, for sure. I'm a "proffesional" searcher. This movie is not released on DVD.
