seems to be in a bad place at the moment. I don't know where to report this, since none of the contact choices imdb offers seemed to fit, so I decided to post it here.

You're right, there is a cry-for-help aspect to the review. I hope someone pays attention to your note. Meanwhile, I tried the "report" function to see if whoever reads complaints about reviews can be appealed to as a human being in a case like this.

I believe that IMDb should do something about it, maybe this guy was just having a bad day, but I believe that were never prudent enough in those circumstances.

It is possible that a staff member of IMDb reply to this thread.

The person indicates mental illness, so is self aware on that score. Somehow, someone with experience needs to reach out, because direct responses to the review from other IMDb users may do more harm than good. I wish I could tell this person that, at age 66, I've come through several periods of realizing my mortality, sensing the end of my life, and I rarely had such thoughts when I was in my '40s and younger. These are dark times, to be sure, and isolation makes comforting another person difficult when maybe the best thing would be a hug! Watching movies like the one the reviewer is responding to doesn't sound like a good idea, to state the obvious. I hope there is some mechanism through IMDb whereby a mental health specialist can be put in contact with this person!
