very recent problems playing IMDB trailers (on XP Pro)

It was about two weeks ago on three different laptops running XP Pro, that I first had trouble playing IMDB trailers. Where the player should be is the play icon arrow with a line through it next to the message "Error loading player:" then "Network error". If I disable Shockwave Flash, the second part of the message changes to "No playable sources found". It is the same when using Opera or Firefox, with or without Adblock. Other streaming sites (You Tube, Vimeo etc) are not affected. If I use an analysis tool such as www.webpagetest.org to identify the video stream, I can watch it in the browser (using the Quick Time plugin) So the problem would seem to be in the IMDB player applet.

Hello William,
Can you give us an example URL of the trailer that you’re trying to play.

Literally any.  Since this started, I haven't found one that will play.

Hi William,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention! I've reached out to the team that manages the IMDb Player, I will let you know when more information is available.

Hi William,
The IMDb video player no longer supports Windows XP devices. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Hi, I've discovered that Shockwave Flash 31.0.0.108 will allow IMDb trailers to be played on Windows XP SP3 using both Firefox 52.9.0 and Opera 36.0.2130.80. (Shockwave 28.0.0.161 appears to work with Opera but not Firefox.)  Hope this helps someone!

Windows XP is a personal computer operating system produced by Microsoft as part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It was released to manufacturing on August 24, 2001, and broadly released for retail sale on October 25, 2001
Your equipment and O.S. is so far out of date!!! I abandoned using what I considered was windows best platform almost ten years ago when I got sick and tired of choppy videos and the poor patches that was coming out at the time. I clung to XP for dear life. But realized that it was over. I upgraded. I had not heard of anyone using this in over 8 years. My suggestion. Upgrade! What is your processor speed? 1.33Ghz. 1GB Ram? It's time to abandon your equipment. 17 year old software and equipment = a Model T Ford.
Tiger Direct has some very low prices on refurbished PC's with windows 10. Some as low as $150. That's a great price. That will cure your video problems.
