Votes.

You should open the votes only when any given movie goes to wide release. It looks like you still don't understand that a single premiere have a very limited number of people, but you still open the votes anyway, givin' space for people who didn't even see the movies to give hate-votes, based on racism or sexism, as was recently the case of Captain Marvel and now Us, by Jordan Peele. I simply don't understand you guys. It is a matter so simple to solve. But you didn't solve other simple problems, like the impossibility of people of other countries to see ALL the titles in english, or of an accurate IMDb rating order in any given list or search (I can't believe that I'm still given results with release date order when the movies have the same rating number). By the way, another matter: now on the IMDb app the release date order on the lists are appearing by USA release date. Tokyo Story appears in the 70s!!! It is completely inaccurate. Please, stop changing things. Every time you change things you change for worse. Thanks and sorry for my english.

Thank you for sharing your concern, usually all we can say about voting is covered in the FAQ at https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/track-movies-tv/faq-for-imdb-ratings/G67Y87TFYYP6TWAV

However, we have pending updates to this FAQ to clarify this point, please see https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/leaving-neverland-2019-bug
This because we evaluated the policy after the incident with The Promise and made policy changes for exactly this situation ... a one-off screening at a festival being spammed with reviews / votes (whether good or bad) which are mostly from people who could not possibly have seen it may cause us to block voting / reviewing on the title until such time as it is generally released somewhere. We have actually done this with other titles since 2016.
In the case of Captain Marvel, voting was not open until it went into wide release on Wednesday -> https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4154664/releaseinfo

Ok. But the votes for Us (the new Jordan Peele movie) are already open. And it has only three screenings besides the premiere at SXSW. And Captain Marvel went into wide release on Friday, actually. Two days after you've opened the votes.

Captain Marvel had a worldwide release, and not all the countries have Friday as opening day... (just check the link provided by Col)

Could you please rephrase your question? I am not sure that pointing you to the release date pages will answer your request.

Well. I give up. You keep defending IMDb and its misleadings. I'm not sure why. But ok.

Angelo Pilla,
The discussion has developed into absurdity.
You have been explained how things work at IMDb.
Accept it and move on.
You are not swaying any ones opinion here. No policy or rules are going to change.
The first reply you got at the top was some thing you won't get anywhere else I'm aware of.
Your answer came from the founder of the IMDb.
Yes that's right!
The Head Guy.
The Big Kahuna!
THE BOSS!
Please move on.
Thanks.
Cheers.

Oh...what the world would be without the conformists?
Hum...a better place, maybe. ;-)
