I'm reporting a problem on a poll http://www.imdb.com/poll/cHJPu-euf0M/ hundreds of votes in a very short time for one actor and the others aren't moving at all. I think something is wrong with the voting system and some spam/bot voting is happening. I tried alerting the author of the poll but got no answer.

I saw this when it was happening and another user user recorded an image of the spam bot voting. Unfortunately, there is nothing the author of a poll can do once it goes live.
The specific poll in question is

The spam bot recorded many votes for Chloë Grace Moretz.

Staff are the ones who can examine this - thanks to your thread here and the evidence above, they should spot this and, hopefully, will look into it.
It certainly looks like there should be some kind of flood control for voting from the same IP.

IMDb reinstated the poll about a month and a half ago. They have been updating the software since that time. Flood control would be a good idea.

We'll see what happens here, but it might be worth a suggestion if staff don't pick it up here.
I guess, it's not possible to contact the staff direclty?
Staff does visit this page, and is the preferred media of voicing issues. This issue has been raised both here and on the IMDb Poll forums, so I'm quite sure the staff are aware of it. But I agree it would be nice to get the issue acknowledged and fixed.
